Dear SHS Families,
As you may already know, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has taken the extraordinary step to close all Ohio K-12 schools at the end of the school day on Monday, March 16th, for an "extended spring break" until April 3rd. Please understand that Steubenville City Schools will continue educating students during this time. Educational materials will be sent home with students on Monday, March 16th. Some classes use online learning. Students are already familiar with this and have their login information to enhance the educational experience while at home. All work sent home must be completed within five days of returning to school. Materials will be graded and counted towards attendance. Teachers will be available to answer questions by email to assist students as they work through school packs. Please feel free to communicate with your child's teachers if needed. The office will remain open during the closure from 7:30 am-4:00 pm.
We would also like to let you know that breakfast and lunch will be available in our school cafeteria for all students from 10 am – 12 pm. The food served will be grab-and-go, meaning food will not be eaten on-site but will be prepared for take-out. Because the current school closure will run into our scheduled Spring Break, students will not return to Steubenville High School until Tuesday, April 14th.
We are offering a monitored computer at SHS over our time off. This area will have Wi-Fi available for students.
Free Wi-Fi (Comcast) Free Wi-Fi
We want to thank our SHS families for your cooperation and support. We know that the school closures may cause a disruption to your family's established routines but feel we must all show a bit of patience and flexibility to accommodate these unprecedented circumstances.
Mr. Gorman, Principal
